2 liter vs. 20 oz

When I was at the grocery store the other day, I saw where they were selling two liters for 89 cents.
Yes, TWO LITERS.
This got me thinking, they can sell a 2 liter for that price, and probably still make a profit. And while, at a gas station, a standard 20oz drink costs over a dollar.
These guys must be making massive profits on those little drinks.
When I'm sure the price of production is only a fraction.
Meh, whatever.

  1. I would buy them out if 2 Liter was 89 cents, a vending machine will charge more for just a can

  2. Yah I have seen that too, they are laughing all the way to the bank man. The markup on beverages is insane.

  3. It sucks man, whenever I buy a 2 liter it goes flat before I can drink it all so I usually buy 20 ounces. I'm getting ripped off.

  5. Oh yeah that makes me mad, but I think the compact size of the smaller bottles makes it easier to drink while driving or just walking the road. I guess you're just paying that extra money to not look like an idiot with a two-liter in his hand.

  6. It's so silly. Wal-Mart's been doing this thing where a half gallon of milk is like $1.50 while a gallong is like $0.60. I DON"T UNDERSTAND

  10. I think what they are selling you is the convenience of being able to carry and drink the soda on the-go. Not so much the drink itself =/

  11. Rip-off man. Buy a load of the big bottles, some cups and stand next to a vending machine selling cups of pepsi for a quarter of the price.

  12. Welcome to business. The middle men at the gas station are obviously trying to make an insane profit with that massive markup, but if you think thats a huge difference lmao you have no idea.
    Followed!

  13. Wow! And I thought 5 six-packs of 20z bottles for $11 was a good deal one time.

  14. Yeah, I've noticed this. Only problem with 2-Liters is that they go flat so quickly. I usually just buy 12 packs from the grocery store.

  18. It all has to do with convenience, like ghost of Swayze said. People are more likely going to buy a smaller bottle for ease of carrying around
